Our Values, Vision, and Mission
In the fall of 2019, our community embarked on a visioning process we called the “Jeremiah Project.”
Over 80 members of the Grace community gathered in small groups for six weeks to discern together what the guiding values
of Grace are, what our vision for our community is, and what the mission we seek to live into might be.
Our Values: What are our core principles?
Welcoming - Love - Belonging - Inquiry - Wonder - Celebration - Service
Our Vision: Who are We Called to Be? Why do we exist and how do we live our values?
We are on a faith journey shared among people of all ages.
Through vibrant, joyful worship and engaged discussions, we grow in knowledge and love of God, deepening our commitment to justice and service. Grace is a safe place to ask big questions
and challenge assumptions, where all are welcomed with kindness and without judgment.
Our Mission: What are We Called to Do? How will we change our community and our world?
Grace is a source of spiritual restoration and strength
to prepare and inspire our members and our community
to be conduits of divine love,
following the example of Jesus:
to companion the vulnerable, heal division,
and confront and dismantle inequality.
For Such a Time as This
God of endless Grace,
steady our hands to your work in these days.
May our worship and ministries draw in those
who have yet to experience the gift of belonging.
May our parish be a source of spiritual restoration and strength
to all who are struggling with the uncertainties of this time.
May your divine love flow through us so that we are able to
companion the vulnerable, heal division and dismantle inequality.
May our wonder at the beauty of creation help to stem
the harm to land, air, oceans, plants, animals and people.
May the spirit of our work-songs
and the echoes of our laughter
inspire those who meet at Grace years from now
to give as we give and gather as we gather,
still building the kingdom of Jesus Christ,
in whose name we pray. Amen.
